Thank you to the 37 individuals who attended our GPS and Geocaching event yesterday. We now have had a grand total of 1137 individuals in attendance at our 8 Discovery Events this year.
Our next and final Discovery Series Event of the year is intended for everyone, whether you are an experienced avid hiker or someone who has never hiked before.

Join TRACKS members and Nature Center enthusiasts for a hike to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside. The hike will begin at the Nature Center parking lot, 425 South Woodland Road, at 10 am on Saturday, August 22, 2009. Choose from one of three guided hikes: a 2 mile (one hour) hike across the Nature Center, to the Big Springs Environmental Study Area, and back; a 4 mile (two hour) hike from the Nature Center, through Big Springs, up the Walnut Creek riparian corridor, and back; or a 6 mile (three hour) hike from the Nature Center, through Big Springs, up the Walnut Creek corridor, around Woodland Lake, and back. Your guides are experienced hikers who are pleased to share their knowledge of the history and environment along these beautiful trails. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes, bring water, a snack, and sunscreen. This event, a joint venture of TRACKS and the White Mountain Nature Center, is intended for the entire family, but we ask that children be acompanied by an adult and that you leave your pets at home.

The Nature Center is located at 425 S. Woodland Road in Pinetop-Lakeside, between Big Springs Environmental Study Area and Mountain Meadow Recreation Complex.
Additional information on the Nature Center, its complete schedule of programs, and the online Nature Store are available at www.wmnature.org or call 928-367-5675.
