White Mountain Wildlife and Nature Center Announces
2010 Discovery Program Schedule
With all of our recent snow, you may not be ready to believe that summer is just around the corner. At the White Mountain Wildlife and Nature Center we are getting ready by planning the 2010 Discovery Program series of events that promises to be bigger and better than ever.
In January we held our first planning meeting at the Show Low Library and invited the public to suggest themes and topics they would like to see developed into summer educational opportunities. This meeting combined with the hard work of our planning committee, has resulted in the following schedule. In fact we have been so successful that a second meeting, tentatively planned for Monday, February 22nd will not be necessary.
Each of our nine planned weekend events will feature multiple presenters that are sure to interest adults and children alike. Some of your favorites will be returning, and many experts who have not offered programs in the White Mountains before, will be featured. Once again, most of our programs will be free, and all are open to the public. Also new this year will be our 2500 square foot event pavilion that will provide shade and protection from the elements for our presenters and visitors to the site.
Please mark your calendars so that you don’t miss any of our exciting events. Unless otherwise noted, programs will run between 10 am – 2 pm and be held at the White Mountain Wildlife and Nature Center site. We still have a few expert speakers to confirm before we can reveal all of the details of each day, so visit our website often for the latest information on program opportunities.
We look forward to seeing you this summer…so get ready to discover nature and the White Mountain Wildlife and Nature Center!
