Beginning Birdwatching Workshop Set for May 22
What’s that bird soaring overhead? How do I attract birds to my yard? How do I use this field guide? Which binoculars are good for watching birds? Those and many other questions can be answered at the popular Beginning Birdwatching Workshop, scheduled for Saturday, May 22 and sponsored by the White Mountain Audubon Society.
Birdwatching is one of the nation’s fastest-growing hobbies, and Arizona is one of the nation’s best places to watch birds. This is a match you can’t beat! We hope you can join us to learn the basics of bird identification, how to best attract birds to your yard, how to choose and use binoculars, and how to use a field guide. The workshop starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Show Low Public Library. The workshop will cover the above topics and include several handouts. Lunch will be provided.
The fee for the workshop is $12 for individuals and $17 for couples. This includes the workshop materials, lunch, and a year’s membership in the White Mountain Audubon Society. Interested individuals should pre-register by May 19th either by e-mailing White Mountain Audubon at whitemountainaudubon@hotmail.com or calling Mary Ellen Bittorf at 367-2462. Please give us your name, telephone number, and e-mail address to receive further details about the workshop. This is an excellent opportunity to find out more about the wildlife in the White Mountains!
