2019 Event Details
About the Event
After 11 successful years, our annual event will celebrate National Trails Day, June 1, 2019, with a 5K non-competitive walk, a 5K non-competitive walk, a 5-mile hike in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, a less than 1-mile naturalist-guided nature walk on improved Nature Center trails, and 10-mile mountain bike ride in Woodland Lake Park. The first 200 to register will receive a FREE Walk for the Woods T-shirt, a FREE lunch, and a door prize chance (paid registrants only). There will be a concert by Fat Chance and displays from our sponsors.
It’s fun! Also entry fees are tax-deductible and will benefit the White Mountain Wildlife and Nature Center, Inc. and Save Our Park, Inc.
Until May 25, 2018, entry fees are only $25 ($10 under 12; no fee under 5, no shirt). After that date, participants must register on the day of the event for $30. Sorry, no refunds. Onsite registration will begin at 7:30 AM.
- Bikers: 8:00 AM
- 5-mile hikers: 8:15 AM
- 5K walkers at 8:30 AM
- Nature walkers: 8:45 AM
All participants must gather at the Nature Center located at 425 S. Woodland Road in Pinetop-Lakeside, and be checked in at least 15 minutes prior to their event. Minor children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. NO PETS, BABY CARRIAGES, OR OTHER APPARATUS. Participants must be in good health and physically prepared to accept the challenge of this event. Helmets are required for bikers.
