You Can Make a Difference!

Abert's SquirrelThe Nature Center is largely funded by private donations. To grow and fully realize our mission, we need your help. The Nature Center is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. As such, your donations are tax deductible.

We have been blessed with generous financial support and selfless volunteerism from hundreds of individuals and organizations. But as we prepare for the “home stretch,” we need to raise the additional funding necessary to complete our Nature Center complex, and we need volunteers to serve in specialized committees, to prepare our land for public use, and to help in several other areas.

Make a Donation

We need your donations to pay our expenses and to complete our site and building goals. While we understand that current economic times are creating hardships for just about everyone, we have financial obligations that cannot be postponed for “better times.”

WMNC is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so your donation is tax-deductible (EIN 20-1166851).

Until we have completed our building and can generate income directly from the center, donations and grant funding are our only means of generating revenue. Unfortunately, grant funding and public (government) donations are practically non-existent because of financial constraints faced by corporations and government agencies.

To meet our building construction, land payment, and land development requirements, we must aggressively pursue private donations.

We accept and appreciate any amount donated. Thank you for your support!

Volunteer Weeding an Oak Sapling

We can always use a helping hand. Currently, most of our volunteer positions are related to site maintenance and fundraising. As we grow, we plan to offer volunteer positions in our Nature Center store, as docents, and several other positions.

You don’t have to wait until our doors are open—we can use the help now. For more information about how you can use your talents and concern for nature to help our cause and our community, contact us.
