The White Mountain Fieldbook is a small, independent educational publication about noticing nature in Arizona’s White Mountains. It contains newly written observation guides, not a reconstruction of an organisation’s present operations.

A clear distinction

This domain was formerly used by the White Mountain Nature Center. The centre now maintains its own current information at wmnature.org. This edition is not operated by that organisation and does not claim its staff, charitable status, facilities or partnerships as our own.

For bookings, hours, events and programme enquiries, use the operating centre’s website. We do not accept donations on its behalf.

How the fieldbook uses sources

Local context is linked to identifiable sources, including the town’s Big Springs description. Practical access details may change after a page is written. We avoid repeating old schedules as if they were current.

The exercises in this edition are original suggestions for observing and recording. They are not claims that we surveyed a trail, delivered a particular school programme or witnessed an event.
